Choosing To Trust God: Breaking the Habit of Worry - A Giveaway!

Yellow book cover with aloe plant on deep green grass background

For those of you who have been following me here at the blog, you know that when I was little I was a bona fide "Worry Wart".   Since becoming a Believer, I wouldn't call myself a worry wart necessarily, but that's not to say I don't still struggle with worry...

As you know, the focus here at Growing Together in Grace & Knowledge is to provide Biblical insights to encourage you to grow in and through your struggles while equipping you to overcome.  As the blog title indicates, I am right there with you, growing in and through my own struggles as I share what the Lord has taught me...

A couple of months ago, the Lord impressed upon my heart to write a devotional.  It was really quite random actually, but then again, nothing is random with God.   You see, the following title for the devotional "popped" into my head - Choosing to Trust God:  Breaking the Habit of Worry A 30 Day Devotional.

Little did I know just how significant that title would be, and especially, just how timely this devotional would be...

I have heard more and more people stating that they had never struggled with anxiety or worry before, but now they very much ARE struggling as they find themselves, like all of us, in these extremely unprecedented and quite frankly, scary times in the midst of this global pandemic.

At the time I was putting together this devotional, I had NO IDEA what was going to happen in the United States just a few weeks later, but the Lord knew...

I LOVE when that happens.  And doesn't that just showcase the character of God?!  When He calls us to walk through fiery trials, He has already prepared all manner of provision so that we can walk through the "valley of the shadow of death" unscathed.  He NEVER asks us to go through any difficulty alone for He is with us, His rod and His staff they comfort us.

As I worked on each day of the 30 day devotional, God was already preparing my own heart for what was going to happen in the world, and He was orchestrating a means by which I could share the same encouragement with my gracious readers.

Much like my blog posts, I have written this devotional as an outpouring of what I have learned (and am still learning) about what it means to truly trust God and to break the habit of worry while hopefully providing you that same opportunity for growth.

I trust that the Lord will be glorified in you as you saturate your mind with the Truth of these devotions, find freedom from your habit of worry and establish a solid habit of trusting God in ALL circumstances.

The premise behind the book is to capitalize on the fact that it can take anywhere from 21 days to two months to break a bad habit and/or establish a new one.

I believe that can be true of spiritual disciplines as well.

My hope and prayer is that by meditating upon each day's devotion from Choosing to Trust God:  Breaking the Habit of Worry for 30 consecutive days, you will be able to break the habit of worry and develop a solid habit of trusting God.

It may seem odd to have to “develop the habit of trusting God”, but I think we all can agree, that too often we slide right into the habit of worry which is the complete opposite of trust.

Choosing to Trust God:  Breaking the Habit of Worry - A 30 Day Devotional has been designed to help you break the habit of worry.  Each day you will have a relevant devotion to read that will remind you of God’s faithfulness, promises, character and attributes to establish a mindset of trust even in the midst of storms...

Today I received my first copies of the paperback version of my book and it was so surreal.  It is amazing what God can accomplish through us when we obey His promptings!  If you had told me a couple of months ago that I would be a published author on Amazon, I would've said, "No way!".  lol.

To celebrate what the Lord has done here, I would very much like to give away a paperback copy of Choosing to Trust God:  Breaking the Habit of Worry A 30 Day Devotional.

  1. I have also been called a "Worry Wart" all of my life. My sister calls me the "Queen of Worry". I have actually coped much better with the mess that is happening right now than I ever would have believed considering I have kids living all over the world and my husband is still going to work everyday AND we're both in the high risk group. I know the strength that I have had so far is a gift from the Lord. I pray myself to sleep every night and feel His arms around me as I drift off. I actually sleep! It's amazing.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

    1. Hi Betsy, Nice to meet a fellow worry wart! ;-)

It sounds like you and I are experiencing the same kind of peace despite the "nicknames" that preceded us. All Praise and Glory to God!

  2. At 71 years young, I am ashamed to admit I am 'still' one who worries about things, although less than more. Still with this pandemic my faith is tested daily and I look to Jesus to be my strength and fill me with His peace, and for His comfort at this time. I talk to Him throughout my days and nights, and it is because of Him that I can lay down in peace and sleep because it is He that maketh me to dwell in safety.

I came here through another blog 'Homespun Devotions'. All of these posts are so encouraging to keep focused on Jesus, what He has done, what He is doing and faith an hope in what He will do. God's continued blessings on you.

    1. Hi Lorraine! I think that so many of us will have moments of worry as these are very worrisome times! But the Lord in His Grace and Mercy is using this pandemic to draw His children and those who don't know Him to Himself.

"I need thee every hour". Indeed!

Thank you so much for your extremely encouraging words. They mean so much to me. And thank you again for subscribing! :-)

  3. SO thankful to see how God orchestrated all of this for you, sweet friend! My dear Mom always told me that God has His own timetable. All the times we question and wonder why He doesn't hurry or do things the way we think He should, He is seeing everything out in the future and working all things together for our good. I am glad He knows and it behoove us all to put our full trust in Him and not worry at all. May God bless you and your new book and keep pouring HIs thoughts into your writing!
