Thanksgiving Thursday - December 10, 2015

Welcome to another weekly installment of Thanksgiving Thursday.  :-)

Sing joyfully to the Lord, you righteous;
it is fitting for the upright to praise him.
Psalm 33:1

Counting my blessings one by one:
  • For God's mercies and protection both seen and unseen...
  • For the joy of experiencing family traditions of Advent with my baby granddaughter...

  • For the sheer delight I feel seeing Lexi take in all the sights and sounds of Christmas...

  • For seeing familiar Scripture verses in new and profound ways; a reminder that His Word is alive and active...
  • For the great gift left by the old hymn writers whose legacy of rich lyrics encourages my soul...
  • For productive days...
  • For simple pleasures like grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup...

  • For my son-in-law's elbow grease, helping to clean around the house...
  • For unseasonably warm early December days...

  • For how much John Piper's book, The Dawning of Indestructible Joy, is drawing me closer to the Lord this Advent season...

Praising God for His many blessings this past week.

I’ll count my blessings—
Count them o’er and o’er—
I’ll tell my Father’s goodness—
I will love Him more,
I’ll count my blessings, bountiful and free—
Yet I can never count them all—
So good is God to me!

  1. Aww, kids are so fun to watch at Christmas time. I enjoy all the Christmas hymns too. My favorite is O Holy Night.
