Thanksgiving Thursday - October 8, 2015
Welcome to another weekly installment of Thanksgiving Thursday. :-)
Sing joyfully to the Lord, you righteous;
it is fitting for the upright to praise him.
Psalm 33:1
Counting my blessings one by one:
Counting my blessings one by one:
- For my church whose congregation's size is big, but whose touch makes each and every person feel loved, valued and needed...
- Listening to the moving testimonies of the four baptism candidates at our church
- Listening to one of the baptism candidates, who hadn't sung in 13 years, sing a beautiful hymn of praise to Jesus before the congregation...
- For the small group Bible study my husband and I participate in...
- For having an incredibly productive weekend...
- Seeing through the eyes of vacationers, who asked me to take a picture of them in front of the magnificent sunset, the beauty of a park that I have the privilege of visiting every day...
- An impromptu visit with my son and daughter-in-law, enjoying lots of laughs together...
- For being a part of all the firsts of my granddaughter
- For my husband's sense of humor...
{Let me explain...}
When my husband went over to clean out his old car before junking it, he placed the above items that belonged to me in a food storage bag. Upon returning home, he presented it to me and said, "Here you go, the Karen Survival Kit." Haha! For those of you who may not know, I have a blocked tear duct "the Lord and I" have developed a system to ensure the least amount of eye irritation - a Q-tip and a mirror. As for the tissues, you can even ask my parents, and they will tell you tissues are always associated with me. :-)
- Spending time with my husband, watching him fish for the coveted striped bass...
- For a mom who tirelessly and enthusiastically researches our family's ancestry so that her children can have the legacy of knowing about the interesting characters and stories that make up our family tree...
- For a warm sunny day after a week's worth of clouds and rain...
- Unexpectedly getting out of work early only to come home and find out my husband got out of work early too and going to enjoy a before dinner walk at our favorite park...
- For blood work results that are normal! :-)
- For the gifted words of kindred bloggers and how they strengthen my walk of Faith...
- For the privilege of being part of a blogger fellowship that becomes more and more special with each passing day...
I’ll count my blessings—
Count them o’er and o’er—
I’ll tell my Father’s goodness—
I will love Him more,
I’ll count my blessings, bountiful and free—
Yet I can never count them all—
So good is God to me!

Hi again, Karen! I love your heart that resonates so beautifully with all you share here! I was especially saying "amen" to a number of things on your list and one of these is the blogger fellowship. I was not aware that this fellowship with women I have never meant would be one of my greatest sources of encouragement! Have a blessed day! Pam
